Google has a Wire Transfer payment method for Google AdSense Publishers in India and many other countries to directly transfer AdSense or YouTube income to a publisher’s bank account, however, you need a SWIFT code.
With the introduction of the Wire Transfer payment system, Google has completely ruled out the old check payment system which could take weeks or even months to reach your home.
Though the Wire Transfer payment process is a quick and easy money transfer process for publishers, it requires you to provide SWIFT-BIC code which is not available in every bank (or branch) of the country. Not only in rural areas but even in big cities, all the banks and small branches may not have an assigned SWIFT code.
SWIFT code is required for international money transfer between banks and foreign currency conversion.
Setting SWIFT-BIC code for AdSense Payment
You can easily add the EFT (i.e. Electronic Fund Transfer) payment method in your AdSense account without any worry. All you need is add:
- Account holder name
- Bank name
- IFSC code
- SWIFT code
- Account number
in your Payment section and select as the primary payment mode.
Important points to note and remember:
- IFSC code of the bank is available on your bank passbook, and every bank has a unique IFSC code. You can even find IFSC code online.
- SWIFT-BIC code may not be available for all the banks, in such cases, you can add the SWIFT code of any nearby parent main branch in which you have your account. The SWIFT code is just required for converting the foreign currency to Rupees. So, it just acts as a bridge to facilitate currency conversion.
- Once the currency is converted the funds are transferred to your local bank account through IFSC code provided
- To find any nearest bank with SWIFT code you can visit this website and enter the details for SWIFT codes or call your bank customer care adviser to seek help
Most banks present in big metro-cities have SWIFT code and they act as a connecting link for money transfer and IFSC code along with personal bank details. This will let the money transfer to your account once the currency conversion is executed.
If you still have a doubt regarding its risks you can contact your bank for more information. If you do not wish to take any risk then the best solution is to create a new account with a bank having a SWIFT-BIC code, and get your hard-earned cash without any risk.
How about your SWIFT code?
My current bank is ICICI Bank, Pune branch and it doesn’t have a SWIFT-BIC code, however, I still use nation-wide SWIFT code i.e. ICICINBBNRI located in Mumbai Branch. I haven’t faced any challenges from the last 3 years in receiving any payments.
The hope the post was helpful to understand and resolve the SWIFT-BIC code issue.
